Community Involvement

• Adopt a Highway Initiative:
  • Committed to keeping our roadways clean by leading and participating in the Adopt a Highway program on County Farm Road, ensuring a cleaner, safer environment for all.
• Community Emergency Response Team (CERT):
  • Bringing CERT to Wayne Township through funding, promotion, and active participation, including helping with the yearly homeless count. This initiative strengthens community preparedness and resilience in times of crisis.
• West Chicago Sister Cities Program:
  • Supporting the West Chicago Sister Cities program by traveling to Germany to exchange innovative ideas and foster international collaboration. Additionally, organizing and participating in fundraising events to help host German visitors in West Chicago.
• Joining IPWMAN (Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network):
  • Enhancing disaster response capabilities by joining IPWMAN, which facilitates resource-sharing among townships and communities during emergencies, ensuring quicker, more coordinated recovery efforts.
• Engineers in Action – Ecuador Mission:
  • Participating in the Engineers in Action program by traveling to Ecuador to help restore drinking water to communities affected by earthquakes. This initiative also includes raising funds for a new water system, making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
